Even the media is mentioning it this year – our need to “be thankful.” What they aren’t suggesting is “Who it is that deserves our thanks.”
However, we who have a personal relationship with the God of the universe know this One who deserves our thanks. We are not thankful merely because an American holiday commends us to be so; we are thankful because the Lord of the universe is worthy of all our thanksgiving and praise, three hundred and sixty five days of the year! So, what are we waiting for? Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. –Beth Jones
“Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord or fully declare his praise?” (Psalms 106:1-2 NIV)
“Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise. Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, “Amen!” (Psalms 106:47-48 NIV)
